Councils Share Space in Sedgemoor

Somerset County Council is moving more than 250 staff into Sedgemoor District Council’s Bridgwater House to deliver better value for money for local residents.

The 'Listening, Learning and Changing' event in Chard

The latest Somerset Council Roadshow event was held at the Chard Town Farmers Market on Saturday 24th August 2013. The event ran from 0930 til about 1300. 

The County Council has embarked on a series of events to listen to resident's; their concerns, their ideas and their opinions.

- Supported the initial consultations on the A303 and A358 improvements

Support building new homes for local people

We Conservatives want to help our young people who have been raised and educated here, stay in the County. We want to provide

- Quality housing for local people

- Use our urban assets for housing sites

Bring more jobs into the County

We Conservatives have a good track record of bringing new companies into the County. Not only do we want to bring in new companies we want to help our existing companies to grow and prosper. We will

- Build new business parks for companies of all sizes

Create a Somerset University

We Conservatives want to create a new University in the County so that: 

- Our young people have a local University choice

- Residents of all ages returning to education can study locally
