Following the closure of the previous pharmacy in 2024, Cllr Tom Power has been working alongside owners Mitesh and Bvhani Patel, Kris Hillary who is the company’s operations manager and Pharmacy Manager Jonathan Wood to secure a new site for an independent pharmacy in Wincanton’s busy High Street.

Wincanton residents have been calling for a pharmacy presence to return to the High Street and local businesses owner Paul Phillips has been supporting work on the site to enable the opening of this key addition to the town.

Somerset councillors Tom Power and Lucy Trimnell both represent the Wincanton & Bruton Divison and also sit on the Adults and Health Scrutiny Committee so are well aware of the challenges faced by pharmaceutical services and patients.

Attending the opening day of the pharmacy on Monday the 19th of January Cllr Power said “ I am delighted to be able to finally say that we have a pharmacy back on Wincanton High Street and the hard work and long process has been well worth the wait. My colleague Lucy Trimnell and I look forward to supporting Mitesh and the team in any way they need in the future”

He continued “It was wonderful to see so many people coming in to the pharmacy to meet the team and see the services and products on offer. Everybody was commenting on how pleased they are to have a pharmacy back in the centre of the town and it seems as though this can only benefit the people and business in Wincanton.”
